Oh Valentine’s Day. We keep it somewhat casual in this household & don’t get drawn into all the holiday hype. Usually Ryan & I celebrate the day before and go out because it’s nearly impossible to go anywhere without a reservation in Bellevue or Seattle. So technically we’ve already celebrated this year & went out yesterday to our favorite ramen place in Bellevue. Unless we’re going somewhere fancy I keep it pretty casual & chic with some element of funkiness. I always like to have an accessory that stands out & makes an outfit fun.
Check out some of my essentials for going out below.
It’s the funky nature of the white platform that I love. It stands out, especially if the rest of the shoe is a bright color. I’m obsessed with this trend this year. Seattle has been unusually hot this year and my ankle boots are sometimes way too much (it’s that warm).
The brand I’ve been loving has been Bucco, which is over on Hautelook quite a bit, but since it’s a flash sale site, I usually miss my size. I just discovered these over on Zooshop, which I literally discovered tonight, and again, these just fuel my love for these sky high platforms even more. They’re a statement piece and can really make a jean & t-shirt combo instantly fab.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend! Looking forward to floating at the lake tomorrow in this heat.

Spring is finally here. Almost. I mean it is, but if I’m not able to wear sandals in the morning without my toes falling off from the cold then we’re not quite there yet. But next week will be in the mid seventies which means I get break out my favorite Matiko platform sandals.
Damn right that calls for a dancing Dumbledore gif.
But oh hey, speaking of platform sandals. Jeffrey Campbell. Always brilliantly out there with wild styles and sky high platforms & the latest shoes available at Solestruck are no less bold and wonderful.
These platforms look wonderfully retro & I want to buy them all, put on a pair of dark skinny jeans and role the cuffs up. I love them.
I’m so ready for spring, scratch that, I’m ready for SUMMER, and sandals. And I want some Jeffrey Campbell platforms to add to my closet.

I love a sexy & edgy shoe & Vivian Ying’s AW13 preview screams just that.
Vivian Ying is based out of London, and while her brand is emerging, she’s no stranger to edgy shoes & accessories. According to her website, she’s worked for Alexander McQueen and Kurt Geiger, to name a few.
Check out her website or Facebook to get the latest updates.
I’m really looking forward to all of her future collections. So far everything looks stellar.

Vogue baby looking adorable with her chew toy.
Luxury Rebel shoes. I’ve been wearing the boots a lot. They’re comfy.
Ciaté Nail Polish. My new favorite brand. It seems to hold up much longer and goes on really nicely. This color is called Cupcake Queen.
I’ve been on a cooking binge lately. I’ve started making everything myself. These are salted caramel brownies.

Zara scarf / Betsey Johnson Boots / H&M skirt & top // on a side note: Zara is finally coming to Seattle. So excited!
Black Milk leggings & Senso shoes ❤
From my office last Friday night. Seattle off in the distance.
Lots going on, more travel in a little over a week, down to Portland for work. Meanwhile, I’m wishing I could be in New York for fashion week. Maybe need to plan a little better for next year.
After a trip to Ikea last weekend, our townhome is starting to feel a little more put together. We purchased some shelving and book cases so we could de-clutter our counters. It’s starting to look less like a college student’s apartment. With our newly added space, I now have space to make things more festive. I love the Holidays, and I can’t wait to add some more decorations to the house.
For now, I’m dreaming of snow, hot cocoa, and holiday parties.
The Nickel Diner, a bustling little joint that had good food.
One of the other designers, Patuna Bushyhead. Her collection was simply stunning, flow, ethereal gowns with jewels.
Finally Bri Seeley & Lina Zeineddine shoes on the runway!
Bri’s collection has been picked up by Zappos & will be available sometime next year! It was a great week for these two designers.
I left after the first round of shows so I could get back to Beverly Hills and get packed since I had to be up early to catch a flight to Chicago. I ordered room service and enjoyed a relaxing evening before heading off on another, short but much anticipated, trip.
