Burberry Autumn 2013

Just as spring collections are popping up in stores, I’m pining for warmer weather, and then Fashion Week across the world is upon us and we’re looking at collections for Autumn. As usual, Burberry tops my list for favorite collection.

Here are my favorite pieces from the show.

Happy Sunday everyone, hope everyone is having a relaxing weekend!

Burberry SS13: Top Looks

If I could only pick one runway show to watch, it would be Burberry. I usually take the time to sit down and watch the show if I couldn’t live stream it.

A lot of the puffy outwear for this collection wasn’t to my liking. I don’t think it’s flattering. I was more interested in what was underneath the puffiness. Well tailored light cream and pink dresses and metallic swimsuits.

I’m loving the gold shorts in the 4th image down. They’re not gaudy and are a classy chic cut. I love the style of the shoes, the geometry is interesting, but I’d prefer different colors.

I even love the pink metallic trench coat. I would totally rock it.

My favorite picks from the Runway are below.

Burberry Prorsum S/S12

I feel that every season Christopher Bailey gets bolder and bolder with Burberry, and I continue to love the brand, even if it goes out of bounds of what I’m expecting to see. One of the keys for a great artist in fashion, music, or the arts in general, is their ability to grow and explore beyond the norm of their brand, sound or style. If you can’t explore and grow, you become boring. Who wants to stay the same way forever anyway?

So, while there are some pieces and fabrics and textures in this collection I’m not terribly fond of, I can see the collection as a whole and how it all ties together, and I do say, the collection is fantastic and colorful, a beautiful spring collection.

And I so terribly want all of the shoes.

The African inspired detail on the shoes and garments is such a lovely and unique touch, and with the shoes, the anklets on some of the wedges add the illusion that you’ve accessorized, and I love that. They’re bright and colorful, very spring and summery, and yet the tone of a lot of the clothing is wearable throughout the year. I’m looking more at the solid colored pieces, but some of those deep purple, magenta patterned pieces and some of the darker pencil skirts work very well for fall as well.

As always, the coats/trenches are beautiful and classy. Classic Burberry.

Overall, I’m impressed again, as usual, by the British brand, and will be keeping my eye out for when shoes and accessories hit the store in a few months. I’ve already decided, shoes and one of those fabulous belts, need to be mine. If only it would stay summer long enough in Seattle for me to justify that type of purchase 🙂

The full collection can be viewed on Burberry’s Facebook Page, and the show from fashion week can be viewed on their YouTube Page.

And that is your seasonal Burberry update.

a little british class – burberry fw 2011

And now for a post with a complete change of pace, Burberry FW Collection is available for purchase. So lovely! It makes me think of Autumn, and crisp leaves on the ground. One day, one of their beautiful coats will be mine.

I would totally rock this Fur Lined Wool and Cashmere Coat. So much love. It looks so nice and warm! I can just see myself walking in downtown Seattle on a beautiful fall day in that coat. And the vintage fur lined hat I bought from Rene Ropas would match perfectly!

And as usual, I am a sucker for boots…all boots, any style. I saw a pair of moon boots on Nordstrom’s website. I would even rock those.

I love Burberry because of that English style. I have always wanted to visit England and I think that in part draws me to Burberry’s styles. The brand always has a classic English style and other times English with a twist, but it’s still quite easily recognizable as Burberry. I love it. The idea of a foggy, autumn London morning brings beautiful images to mind.

Quite a nice change from the more alternative, edgy, funky styles I’ve been loving lately. Burberry always reminds me I have expensive taste when I want to. And oh how I adore it.

Burberry Womenswear A/W 2011

I’m excited. I’ve joined the smart phone world with a new Droid 2, and I love it.

I went to the Verizon Store last Friday to pick out a phone as it was update time already…I knew I wanted a smart phone but I didn’t want to switch to AT&T for an iPhone, I like Verizon and my dad has the Droid Eris, so I knew I wanted a Droid, but which one? What ultimately helped me make my decision on which phone to pick was the fact that the Droid 2 has a slide out keyboard and it is Flash compatible.

It’s a sweet phone and all the free apps are super cool. And I love it when I get text message or email and all you hear is “Drooooid”. =)

I got my Burberry lip gloss finally ♥ and I cannot wait to buy some of the other products. The lip gloss is creamy and doesn’t get that goopy, sticky feeling on your lips. It moisturizes and makes your lips feel soft. The reviews on Nordstrom.com for the other products are 4 or 5 stars, so I’m waiting to use up my foundation and go splurge.

Some other lip glosses…
Coach is a little goopy, but shu uemura is like the Burberry gloss, not goopy and it moisturizes but its more sheer and doesn’t have a real full color like the Burberry does.

We went to Wenatchee a few weekends ago and Ryan’s mom had a Tarte set for me. Waterproof mascara and eyeshadow and it came with a big scarf that matches the colors of the eye shadow. I’ve tried the gold, but I’m a little hesitant on trying the turquoise….

With the Burberry make up I also ordered this light sweater from Bobeau

And this camisole from Free People, which was a steal and its so versatile, I love it!

Been busy with work, all the new tenants are moving in with school starting in 2 weeks. I kind of miss the excitement of back to school, it was always a really enjoyable time for me, starting the new classes, and seeing everyone. Life goes on though, and I KNOW once I land a design job somewhere, it will be the same excitement on a new level. I am so ready to just work my butt off and design!

I’ve finally landed on a design I like for my portfolio website that knocks it all up a notch…or two. It feels like I say that all the time but its for real this time! I have probably 5 different sites halfway built but I get halfway through them and then I’m like, this sucks. But you’re your own worst critic right? So it’s all apart of the process for me.

I’ve been on a Bayou on the Bay craze lately. Mmmm cajun food! Their chicken wings and fried okra are so good. And I love their blackened prawn caesar salad….with a whiskey & coke….mmm it makes for a good meal.

And I actually ate some sushi the other day….I am super picky and when my friends took me out to try it last year I was not liking it…except for the salmon. So I grabbed this the other day for lunch and devoured the salmon, the tuna was OK, I’m sure it would have been much better fresh, so maybe I will have to give it another shot and go out in Seattle.

Well, it is my day off, and I’m not feeling too hot, so I’m going to make some food and kick back and do some sketches and design.

And just because I like doing “what’s in your purse”, here’s a recent shot.

Have a great Wednesday everyone!

oh yeah…RATATAT in a week!
